For autumn/winter Kitakyushu, the original introduced an updated shopping route at Kokura Station. AMU Plaza Kokura’s East Wing third floor reopened September 10, 2026. A combined 22 new or revamped shops brought together fashion, lifestyle goods, desserts, and food. By the September 14 check it was already open as permanent space, not a short opening event.

The report compared JR Kokura City’s detailed August 25 release with the official floor guide. This was a traveler’s guide to a space opened September 10, not an opening announced “today.” Kokura is in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, a different area from Hakata in Fukuoka City.

Official information listed noncaffeinated teas, decaf coffee, tumblers, gifts, and tastings. Its hours were 10 a.m.–8 p.m., specific to H&F BELX, not every East Wing shop. Check each actual package’s ingredients, allergens, and caffeine labeling.

Visitor conditions to check

Address 1-1-1 Asano, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka (福岡県北九州市小倉北区浅野1丁目1-1); AMU Plaza Kokura East Wing floor 3
Audience Ordinary commercial-facility information; checked official material did not exclude Korean or other foreign visitors. It was not a verified South Korea-flight-exclusive benefit.
Reservations and fees The checked material did not establish a floor-entry reservation or admission charge. Product prices depended on shop and item.
Language information The official site offered Korean through Google Translate; staff Korean support was unverified, and other in-store language support is not assumed.
Overseas cards Brand-specific approval/restrictions for overseas-issued cards were not established; check the shop before payment.
Tax-free shopping The floor guide marked BAYCREW’S STORE and DIANA as tax-free-counter participants, not all 22 stores.

The facility distinguished TAX FREE SHOP, processed directly in-store, from TAX FREE COUNTER processing. Ordinary entry and tax-free eligibility were separate. Check documents such as passports, purchase conditions, fees, and processing hours with the actual shop and official service guide for the visit date. Do not deduct an unverified tax-free percentage or saving in advance.

From Hakata, compare travel costs too

JR ACCESS Hakata → Kokura

Facility access estimates were about 90–100 minutes by conventional local service, 40 by limited express, or 17 by Shinkansen. Individual trains vary; transfers, waiting, and the walk to the shop were extra. Recheck the actual train and fare with JR.

LOCAL ACCESS Kokura Station → East Wing floor 3

The facility connects to JR Kokura and directly to Kitakyushu Monorail Kokura. Save アミュプラザ小倉 rather than Hakata’s AMU Plaza, then follow East Wing (東館) signs.

Before-departure checks

  • Choose two or three shops on the official East Wing third-floor map.
  • Check individual hours, closures, and possible sellouts.
  • Check tax-free participants, processing location/cutoff, and overseas-card use.
  • Separate bread, sweets, and sushi storage/use-by requirements.
  • For a Hakata return, include return fares as well as journey time in the shopping budget.

EDITOR'S NOTE · EVERYDAY TRIP

EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team’s advice

These are EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team’s itinerary judgments from checked facility information, not a personal visit.

Add it at the end of Kokura or Mojiko sightseeing

For travelers already in Kokura, the station location suited gifts before departure. For a short Hakata-only stay, compare the value of adding Kitakyushu sightseeing rather than making a return solely for one shopping floor.

Separate shelf-stable gifts from food to eat soon

With travel ahead, check packaging/storage first and distinguish immediate bread/sushi from gifts to take home. Put refrigerated purchases near the end rather than carrying them long at room temperature.

Total cost matters before tax-free savings

Two marked tax-free participants did not make the whole floor equivalent. Consider item prices, processing, transport, and baggage, and prepare another payment method if the intended one is uncertain.
