Kanucha Resort Okinawa: A Look Inside the Guest Room
We visited Kanucha Resort, described in the original account as Okinawa’s largest resort on an island sometimes called Asia’s Hawaii. Check-in is in the central main building. As you would expect at a large resort, the front lob… [The original related-article excerpt ends here.]

Following the previous account of our room, this is a look around Kanucha Resort’s facilities.

Morning brings a beautiful view from the terrace.
I would love to linger, but breakfast has a closing time, so we head to the restaurant.

The restaurant sits beside the large tropical Garden Pool.
It is winter, and the illuminations we saw last night are still installed.

Breakfast is a buffet with dozens of choices.
For families with babies, baby food is even organized by age in months.
That is a thoughtful touch.

Our breakfast view is the inviting Garden Pool rather than the sea.
In summer, eating here between swims could feel like a beach party.
Even the thought makes me happy.

Spice-seasoned chicken katsu.

Grilled chicken, crisp outside and tender within.

Bacon and scrambled eggs, familiar staples of a hotel breakfast in Japan.

Meatballs that should appeal to children.

The steamed vegetables are tender and tasty, too.

Mimiga salad, made with pig’s ear, is a familiar Okinawan dish.

Sausages and fries for the children—or anyone who enjoys them.

I have my rice with curry.

There are plenty of desserts, including cake.
I finish breakfast with Okinawa’s Blue Seal ice cream.
I have eaten enough to make lunch and dinner seem unnecessary.

With breakfast behind us, we take a cart around Kanucha’s enormous grounds.

A hill with an open sea view.
There is a swing that looks like a good photo spot.
The golf course stretches ahead, creating Kanucha’s distinctive ocean-view golfing landscape.

The North Wing and South Wing, described in the source as accommodation used by package-tour guests.
These wings have many of the resort’s rooms and occupy its highest area, with excellent views.

The clubhouse, the entrance to Kanucha’s golf facilities.

There is a restaurant inside.

From the balcony, the North Wing and South Wing we just visited are visible together.
Dark clouds arrive in a moment.

Farther downhill are Kanucha Beach and the Beach Counter.
The counter takes marine-activity reservations and handles rentals. Activities were offered in winter as well as summer.

Kanucha’s Beachside Pool connects the resort atmosphere with the sea.
The source gives depths ranging from 1 meter to 50 centimeters and describes it as a pool families could enjoy together.

Despite the winter chill, some families have booked marine activities to make the most of being in Okinawa.
Marine activities can take place year-round in Okinawa, but winter feels quite cold to me. I admire their enthusiasm.
Seats along Kanucha Beach let you sit quietly facing the water and enjoy the winter sea.

Laundry machines and dryers are available, and the source also notes car-rental arrangements within the resort.
One possible plan would be to arrive at Kanucha by bus, then rent a car here to explore the World Natural Heritage-listed Yambaru forest.
Unfortunately, the cute internal shuttle bus was suspended during this pandemic-period visit.
Quiet time beside Okinawa’s beautiful sea, rooms with impressive views, good food and an attractive golf course.
This seems a strong fit for the tropical resort break many travelers have in mind.
