For an Osaka visit from mid-November, the original introduced another Umeda shopping candidate. NEW ERA UMEDA SOUTH was scheduled to open in Diamor Osaka on November 12, 2026. At the October 8 reference date, opening was 35 days away. No permanent-store closing date was announced, while opening-product stock needed separate checking.

Planned opening November 12
A new New Era shop in Umeda’s underground district

New Era Japan announced its third Osaka-area store October 6, with exclusive cap designs and a side patch. Save the full UMEDA SOUTH name to distinguish it from the existing NEW ERA OSAKA UMEDA.

PLANNED OPENING 11.12 Planned November 12, 2026; 35 days after the reference date
STORE LIMITED CAP ¥4,620 9FORTY and 9THIRTY: per cap, tax included

1. Check opening and announced product prices

The official shop page marked November 12 as planned. Separate the October 6 announcement from a date when visits become possible. It did not guarantee continued sales of limited items or stock on a chosen day.

Opening schedule and announced prices; all Japanese yen, tax included
Official announcement October 6, 2026, noon; New Era Japan
Planned opening Thursday, November 12, 2026; 35 days after October 8
Store-exclusive 9FORTY JPY 4,620 per cap; diamond-cut-style TPU logo and UMEDA SOUTH wording
Store-exclusive 9THIRTY JPY 4,620 per cap; New Era at the front and Umeda South embroidery on the inner sweatband
Store-exclusive side patch JPY 1,100 each; no standalone purchase in the announcement, with general shop rules requiring simultaneous purchase of an eligible cap
Sales end and purchase quantities No end date, stock quantity, or cap purchase limit stated in the checked announcement

Beyond caps, planned products included directly operated-store-exclusive NEW ERA BLACK LABEL clothing, bags, socks, and travel accessories. Full item-by-item prices and incoming quantities were not established.

2. The JPY 1,100 patch requires a cap purchase

A patch cannot be bought alone or applied to every cap

The opening release specified no standalone purchase and an eligible-cap purchase condition. General side-patch rules on the official shop page covered New Era logo products and plain caps, excluding MLB, NBA, NFL, NPB, collaboration, and licensed products. Apply while buying the eligible cap in-store, limited to one patch per purchased cap. Confirm any further opening-design conditions and actual application before payment.

Even if you want the patch, first check whether the cap qualifies. Official guidance said to confirm with staff whether attachment was possible on the right panel or back center. Do not assume a cap purchased before the trip can be brought in for this exclusive patch.

3. About three minutes to Diamor; allow more to reach the shop

New Era’s announced address was Diamor Osaka, Osaka Ekimae Diamond Underground Mall No. 2, 1-chome Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka (大阪市北区梅田1丁目大阪駅前ダイヤモンド地下街2号 ディアモール大阪). The facility’s approximately three-minute walk from JR Osaka Station reached Diamor, not necessarily the new shop’s checkout from the ticket gate.

When checked October 8, New Era’s map button pointed toward LUCUA and did not match the announced address. For planning, use Diamor’s official access information with the address above, then near opening recheck the facility floor map for the shop’s position.

New Era announcement: 10 a.m.–9 p.m.

These were the new-store press-release hours. Recheck the shop’s latest notice before a visit because it had not yet opened.

Facility general shopping: 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

Diamor gave these general hours while allowing shop exceptions. New Era and surrounding stores should not be assumed to close together.

4. Purchases, payment, and tax-free service: keep to the established scope

The opening notice did not separately state purchase qualifications based on nationality, passport, residence, or South Korea departure. Not announcing a foreign-purchase restriction did not guarantee every discount or service. The report also did not establish a departure- or existing-flight/hotel-booking-specific offer.

Overseas-issued cards

Diamor listed card/e-payment service with possible store or product exclusions. Issuer-country restrictions at the new New Era were unconfirmed; check the actual intended card with the shop.

Tax-free conditions at the November opening

The shop page had a tax-free information section, but the checked material did not establish opening-time eligibility, products, or final payable amounts. Budget the announced tax-inclusive prices.

Korean-language information

The facility’s Korean-language information page was accessible, but staff Korean service and product-level Korean descriptions at the new store were unverified. English staff support is not inferred either.

5. Shopping checks before departure

  • Date: Confirm the Umeda visit is from November 12 and recheck opening changes.
  • Budget: Each cap was JPY 4,620, plus a conditional JPY 1,100 patch. Do not deduct an unconfirmed tax-free refund.
  • Products: Check design, color, size, stock, and limits. For a patch, ask about the eligible cap and attachment position before paying.
  • Transport: Add finding the shop, fitting, checkout, and collecting bags to the approach time. Set a shopping finish that fits the next train or airport transfer.
  • Payment and communication: Save product names and the address to help confirm card/tax-free conditions, and prepare for the fact that the original did not establish Korean staff assistance or any other guaranteed visitor language.

EDITOR'S NOTE · EVERYDAY TRIP

EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team’s advice

An easy addition for travelers already passing through Umeda from mid-November. If interested in caps or store-exclusive clothing and already booked for Osaka, combine it with existing shopping. Changing flights or accommodation solely for a limited cap requires considering change costs and uncertain stock; a planned opening does not guarantee purchase success.

Choose a cap before adding a patch to the budget. An excluded cap would mean choosing another to buy the patch too. Consider fit, design, and total spending rather than adding an unwanted product for one decoration. This is an itinerary decision based on the purchase conditions.

Choose a relaxed Umeda day rather than just before flying home. Planning tightly from only the facility walking estimate can make finding the shop or checkout a problem for onward transport. Decide whether to browse elsewhere or spend less and move on if the item is unavailable. If using nearby shops, account for their general facility closing time too.
