Beppu’s Suginoi Hotel announced that reservations for eligible Kyushu Recovery Support Discount Oita plans would begin at noon on October 16, the original report’s date. The discount was 50% of accommodation charges, capped at JPY 20,000 per person per trip. That was the maximum.
The cover was edited from an October 4, 2017 view of Suginoi Hotel. It does not show the current buildings or facilities.

Only designated plans on the official website qualifiedExisting bookings made before sales opened were excluded
The original checked the notice before noon sales began October 16. It had not established actual available rooms or remaining subsidy funds.
1. Check booking dates separately from stay dates
| Category | Schedule and conditions |
|---|---|
| Sales period | October 16, 2026, noon–December 25, Japan time |
| Eligible stays | Nights October 16–December 25, with checkout by December 26 |
| Discount | 50% of accommodation charges; maximum JPY 20,000 per person per trip |
Sales could end during the period once the budget cap was reached. The limit applied per travel contract, not for each night. Infants aged 0–2 were included in the supported headcount. The reduction was the smaller of 50% of the total accommodation price or the combined person-based caps, so not every booking necessarily became half price.
2. Displayed prices are before discount; pay on site
On the hotel’s official site, users had to choose a plan whose name contained 【九州ふっこう応援割 対象】 the designated wording shown. Ordinary plans, phone/email/fax applications, and bookings completed before sales began were excluded. Business/work/public-expense stays and day use were also excluded.
The reservation screen showed pre-discount prices. After completing an eligible plan booking, the discount amount would be emailed to the registered address in sequence, potentially after a delay. Only on-site payment was permitted, and completed reservations could not be changed. Other coupons could not be combined.
Oita’s official FAQ 13 expressly included overseas visitors to Japan. The original noted that South Korean visitors were within that category, but eligible-plan conditions still applied. At check-in, the representative needed to sign and show identification, with all guests’ names recorded. Whether a passport alone sufficed needed confirmation with the hotel.
EDITOR'S NOTE · EVERYDAY TRIP
EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team’s advice
Do not cancel an existing booking first. After the noon launch, check the eligible plan’s pre-discount price and cancellation terms, then carefully confirm dates, guests, and room. Changes were unavailable after booking and the reduction was advised later by email. Existing-booking cancellation charges were not subsidized and needed including in the comparison.
