Separate the event charge from park admission

The autumn festival itself was free, but separate combined admission to the Natural and Cultural Gardens/Japanese Garden was required. Standard individual admission was JPY 450 for high-school students and older, with junior-high students and younger free.

The Japanese Garden’s special teahouse opening ends at 4 p.m.

The Japanese Garden teahouses, 汎庵 and 万里庵, were specially open November 7–29 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. There was no separate viewing charge, but park admission was required.

At 汎庵, a matcha-and-seasonal-Japanese-sweet set cost JPY 900. Service ran 10 a.m.–4 p.m., with last orders at 3:30 p.m. A matcha ticket including discounted park admission cost JPY 1,230 for high-school students and older. It was sold at each entrance counter from opening until 3 p.m. Junior-high students and younger, whose park admission was free, needed only the JPY 900 matcha-set ticket.

Use the monorail, and check the date of foliage updates

The park is in Suita, Osaka Prefecture. Official access listed Osaka Monorail Banpaku-kinen-koen (万博記念公園駅) and Koen-higashiguchi (公園東口駅). From Shin-Osaka, it described the Midosuji/Kita-Osaka Kyuko lines to Senri-Chuo, then the monorail to Banpaku-kinen-koen.

This was an event-schedule report, not a guarantee of peak leaves on a particular date. The official foliage-status page checked October 21 still contained 2025 material, so the writer did not treat it as current-year conditions. Check the latest update date before visiting.

EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team’s advice

For both teahouses and a walk, consider the teahouses first because they finish at 4 p.m. For matcha with admission, ask about the combined ticket before entering and remember the separate 3 p.m. ticket-sale cutoff and 3:30 p.m. matcha order cutoff. Recheck official operation and foliage updates before departure.
