Originally published · Korean source last modified

Jumbo Ferry announced that telephone reservations for its same-day return Fune-yu Cruise (日帰り!ふね湯クルーズ) from Kobe would begin October 26, 2026, with use from October 27. The package makes a return trip aboard Aoi with access to a scenic bath and footbath. The adult base fare started at JPY 2,990, excluding fuel surcharge. Applying the reported October–December charges, an adult weekday tatami-seat trip calculated to JPY 3,690.

No online booking: call by 6 p.m. the previous day

The reservation contact was 087-811-6688, accepting calls 9 a.m.–6 p.m. Callers named the Fune-yu Cruise and gave their travel date, party size, and preferred seat. No internet or travel-agency bookings were accepted. The reservation window ran from one month before travel until 6 p.m. the previous day. Keep the reservation number issued when availability and the booking are confirmed.

The original announcement did not establish Korean-language telephone support; it also provides no basis for assuming English support. If arranging the trip from outside Japan, including South Korea as addressed by the original, first establish whether you can confirm the conditions by phone and obtain a booking number. No overall end date was stated, but peak periods, July 1–August 31, and ship-inspection periods were excluded. Confirm the specific date when booking.

JPY 2,990 is before extra charges

Seat for one adult Package base fare October–December weekday calculation
Nobinobi/tatami seating JPY 2,990 JPY 2,990 + JPY 700 one-way fuel surcharge = JPY 3,690
Comfort reclining seat JPY 3,990 JPY 3,990 + JPY 700 one-way fuel surcharge = JPY 4,690

The totals add the published adult fuel surcharge for October 1–December 31 to the base fare. Although the package is a return trip, the notice charged only one direction’s fuel surcharge. An additional JPY 340 per adult applied on dates using the Saturday/holiday timetable. Food, extra towels, and other separate purchases were not included. Confirm the actual total and applicable timetable when booking by phone.

Elementary-school students and older received a towel/toiletry set and a voucher for coffee or an ice pop. Seats or private rooms other than tatami and reclining seats could not be selected, and seat positions could differ between directions.

At Takamatsu, briefly leave the ship and wait in the terminal

Departure from Kobe was 8:15 a.m., reaching Takamatsu at 1 p.m. Passengers temporarily disembarked, waited inside the terminal, and reboarded the 2 p.m. departure. Scheduled return to Kobe was 6:45 p.m. on weekdays and 6:40 p.m. on Saturday/holiday schedules. This was not an ordinary return trip allowing time to sightsee in Takamatsu.

Bath and footbath access was unavailable during cleaning, 11:20 a.m.–3:15 p.m. The return QR ticket was valid only for the same day’s 2 p.m. departure, with no date change. Disembarkation on Shodoshima and carrying a vehicle were not permitted.

Check the morning terminal and change/cancellation cutoff

Boarding was at Kobe Sannomiya Ferry Terminal, 3-7 Shinkocho, Chuo-ku, Kobe. Check-in opened one hour before departure. Passengers filled in a boarding form with the reservation number and paid at the counter, so allow enough time in the morning.

Changes and cancellations could be notified by phone until 6 p.m. the previous day without a cancellation fee. Cancellation after departure or a no-show incurred the full fare. Conditions for other time periods were not established in the checked notice and should be asked at the booking desk. Departure and arrival times were scheduled and could change with weather or sea conditions.

EVERYDAY TRIP Editorial Team’s advice

For a Kobe day spent relaxing aboard, prepare the reservation call and morning terminal journey first. Do not budget only the JPY 2,990 base fare: add fuel, any Saturday/holiday surcharge, and food. Knowing the bath closure and Takamatsu waiting arrangements also helps avoid an unexpected itinerary.
